Mysterious Places on Earth

The Earth never ceases to amaze . In today's modern age we believe science has  answers to everything. However the earth likes to play mankind with its secrets . It keeps scientists guessing for years and leaving us astounded by its mysteries and secrets,

Here I look at 5 places on Earth that still have the aura of mystery around them even in this age of modern technology.

 

5:-Longyearbyen, Norway

 

 

If you like to sleep then this place is a nightmare for you . From April 23 to August 27 the sun never sets over it. Midnight and noon are the same for this place and after a day or two you lost track of time. This causes a great disruption to the normal routine of life for these people  with many mixing up their meal times...Having dinner instead of breakfast

Imagine  the dilemma ..

 I guess the plus point for these people would be NO Vampires !!!!

4:- McMurdo Dry  Valleys ,Antarctica

 

  The first thought which comes to Our mind on hearing Antarctica is ice and snow. However how may of us knew that it possibly hosts the driest place on earth ??

This valley is one of the most extreme deserts of the world with just 4 inches of precipitation each year. The landscape is completely bare and barren with no life and no snow.

       The most intriguing thing is that this barren  area is located damn straight in the middle of all the ice of Antarctica . What happened to all the ice and snow here ??

A mystery which confounds scientists till today .  

   Am I missing something ???

Yup a possible explanation can be ......Yes you may have guessed ......ALIENS!!!

 Well When we can't explain anything blame it on aliens .....though in our  defense the place looks more like Mars than earth ...

3:-Blood Falls , Antarctica

For those who don't like to see blood this sight might be a bit disturbing . A blood red waterfall staining the snow of Taylor Glacier . Ever since its discovery scientists have been searching for an answer to its mystery.

Recent researches have concluded that the source may be a subterranean  lake . Intriguing thing is that scientists believe it may house micro-organisms sustained by iron and sulphur.

Organisms living 1300 feet under water!!!!!

Now I realize where  Godzilla went at the end .( If you saw the new movie .)

2:- Racetrack Playa , Death Valley California

Stones sailing over the sand without any force behind them .. A mystery that has confounded  people since 1915 when a prospector and his wife saw these tracks indicating the stones had somehow moved over the dry earth with nothing touching them.

The prevailing  theory is of ice that forms around the stones making them move and leave tracks . However people look for a more ....er ....cosmic intervention .

Dammit !! Just blame it on the aliens already , people .

So remember the next time you kick a stone just make sure it doesn't follow you to your home seeking payback ...

1:- Mount Roraima , Brazil

 

 

 

Mount Roraima one of the oldest geological formations of this earth is mysterious not only due to the fact that it ends in a plateau at the top but also due to the diverse species which are found on this mountain .These species are found nowhere else in the world except this mountain making it quite a unique place.

 There is no explanation on how it houses such divere species which are not found anywhere on this earth.

Oh God!! I mean look at this place .

 

It certainly looks like a UFO landing base ....Oh.... Blaming the aliens again easiest answer to any mystery.

The scientists may arrive on a logical explanation for all these places or they may remain mysteries for a long time .We'll have to wait and watch.

However remember anything can happen in a world so mysteriously strange as ours.
